General

Our small, short-term loans are between $250 and $600. They are loaned for between 1 – 12 weeks.

Our long term loans are up to $2,000. They are loan for between 13 – 52 weeks.

The amount you can borrow is dependent on your personal and financial situation and is assessed on a case by case basis.

No. You can use a Pay Today loan for anything legal. These small loans are designed for your short-term cash needs. Please act responsibly by only borrowing what you can afford to repay as agreed.

Once your loan is approved and you have completed the loan documents, the cash is transferred directly into your bank account.

It’s easy! Repayments are made automatically by direct debit from your bank account on agreed date/s. Please make sure the required amount is in your account. Default fees will be charged if you don’t ensure funds are available. See Charges for more information.

You must have an active New Zealand bank account that your income is paid into.

Yes, if you are receiving regular income into your bank account you are eligible to apply

You must apply for a loan individually, based on your own personal details.

Yes, we assess each application on a case by case basis, however using more than one company at a time for short-term finance can lead you into a bad debt situation.

Late Changes

If you no longer wish to take out your loan, you have five working days to return the money to Pay Today and cancel your loan. See your Loan Agreement for a full statement of your rights and the terms and conditions of your loan.

Getting Approved

If you are experiencing ongoing problems meeting your financial commitments, please don’t apply for our short-term loans. As responsible lenders, we recommend you seek budgeting advise from the Citizens Advice Bureau or the New Zealand Federation of Family Budgeting Services.

Yes. However, we do ask you to sign a wage deduction authority. This will only be used in the event you fail to meet your repayments as agreed. Your employer or future employers will be authorised to deduct the amount owed, plus costs, from your wages, salary, commissions or holiday pay.

Sustained failure to repay a loan can damage your credit history and bring legal action. If you have doubts about whether you can repay a loan as agreed, please be responsible and don’t apply in the first place.

You will not be approved for a Pay Today online loan if:
• You provided false or misleading information or withheld relevant information,
• You are bankrupt,
• You are not in permanent employment/receiving a Government benefit,
• We are unable to successfully identify your personal information,
• The information provided on your application is invalid, incorrect or fraudulent,
• We are unable to verify your bank account information,
• The bank account number provided is not in your name,
• Your bank account conduct as shown on your bank statement (if requested) indicates you have budgetary and/or existing debt problems,
• You have adverse or poor credit history and this is confirmed when your bank statement is examined,

Getting Paid

We’ll send you an email to tell you if your loan has been approved or declined. If there’s any issues with your application, we’ll contact you. If we haven’t, then you can assume we’re still processing it.

Repayment

Yes. There are no extra fees for paying your loan back early. The daily interest will only be calculated to the date of your last repayment. Please contact our customer service team for the final balance of your loan.

The amount due is automatically deducted from your bank account overnight.

If you don’t have enough money in your bank account to make your repayment, you must contact us at least two working days before the due date. After this it will be too late to stop the direct debit being processed by your bank.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please call us. We will consider your circumstances sympathetically and try to help find a solution.

As responsible lenders we care about your ongoing financial health. Each application must be considered on an individual basis. If your application has been declined, we will do our best to provide you with an explanation as to why.
